Bad Result, Bad Game
Red Star Belgrade – Slovan Bratislava 1:2
Bad Result, Bad Game
Poor showing in front of the 30,000 faithful fans. Our players and coaching staff manage to disappoint us again after highly anticipated game.

Red Star: Stamenkovic, Ninkov, Djordjevic, Vilotic, Tosic, Bogdanovic (Vesovic 68), Milovanovic, Cadu , Koroman (Jeremic 85), Jevtic (Trifunovic 62), Perovic

Slovan: Putnocky, Salata, Grendel(Kiss 82), Bozic, Ivana, Sylvestr(Kuzma 75), Bagayoko, Guede, Janosik, Had, Dosoudil

We started a game poorly. Slovan was playing without pressure.  Perovic had the first chance in the 8th minute but his shoot went 10 meters over the cross bar. Right after that Silvestr had even better shot at the goal but Stamenkovic was able to save his net.

Koroman centered a nice ball into the box in 16th minute but Jevtic couldn’t handle it and played it with a hand and deserved a yellow card.

Best chance to take a lead we had when Jevtic  header went near the post in 40th minute.
Punishment came in next possession. Bagayoko shot, Stamenkovic saved it but Slovan’s players were faster to the ball and Milan Ivana scored.

Just before the end of the first half Jevtic had another great chance but his shot from 6 meters was saved by visitors goalie.

Second half brought little bit better game from our players but still not good enough for UEFA competition.  In 51st minute Perovic assisted Jevtic who’s header went over the cross bar. Couple minutes later Cadu stormed thru the right side, passed to Jevtic who again shot wide.

Trifunovic came in for Jevtic in 62nd minute and in his first possession scored from 18 meters into the top left corner.

Just six minutes later Slovan scored again. After a corner kick ball came to Salata who scored with a nice volley shot from penalty area.

Jeremic and Vesovic came in but too late to make any difference. It is obvious that coach Dostanic does not have a capacity to manage a squad like Red Star. Players who played best in training camp did not see the field or played limited minutes.

Fans had their own opinion by chanting for coach Dostanic to resign. They also booed Bogdanovic when he was taken out after his terrible performance.
